Howy, can we lend you a hand?

Yep, it's finally happened. It was inevitable, really: the Lib spin doctors have finally spun out of control. They've gone completely loop-de-loop & twirled right around the bend.

The Age has reported that millions of dollars that the Commonwealth has claimed to spend on Indigenous affairs has, you know, not been spent at all. Well that's not entirely fair- some of it has been spent but if we're gonna get all technical it has not been spent to benefit Indigenous communities. Included in the $$ figure that the Gov has used to show what caring-sharing folk they are is $30 million it promoted as being for Aborigines but actually "used to oppose indigenous native title and compensation claims".

Let's think about this for a moment: oppose native title & compensation claims

Uh-huh.

If this new whacky topsy-turvy logic word-play is adopted nation-wide Capital Ideas predicts chaos in the legal system. Surely most convicted felons will be appealing their sentences now that they realise their actions have merely been misunderstood.

Violent Criminal? 'Oh no, your honour, I wasn't hurting anyone, I was just lending a hand - it was for their own good.'
Bank robber? 'Oh no, your honour, I wasn't nicking cash, I was just lending a hand - it was for their own good.'
Pedophile? 'Oh no, your honour.....'

Yes the consequences could be far-reaching.

Well - what did you EXPECT?! As a senior citizen fighting valiently against cynicism - I for one might have HOPED for more from Mr Howard. But hope is not the same as expectation. ALL hopes for and expectations of Mr Howard are dead. But HOPE must live on - and it WILL live on. Aussie Jules - your time has come.

It's nice to see a senior citizen on board! As a "woman of a certain age" I have been tuning in to Capital Ideas - have been impressed, encouraged - and, yes, a little shocked sometimes ("Cum Rags"!? Deary me! Don't get me wrong - I've lived a bit - but, in my day "Cum Rags" were something one didn't mention) Be that as it may - I've been trying to comment on Aussie Jules page but have been thwarted by something called URL - anyway - Capital Ideas - would you pass on a message to Aussie Jules for me? Tell her that we (well - I ) would like to see more of the flouro (image is so important in politics) Tell her i compliment her on her eyebrows and tell her - NEVER to get them trimmed.

Ah, thanks for drawing our attention to the URL thingy Ms Woman of a Certain Age, think we've fixed it up now so all & any can leave a message for Julie Dunk. In the meantime we will be sure to pass on your advice. We are particularly intrigued by your eyebrow views - do you think it's possible Howy's political downfall began when his groomers gave his a trim? Perhaps he's like Samson & all his powers resided in those lovely long locks.

Thank you,Capital Ideas, for sorting out the URL thing - but while i'm trying to master it (I would ask Aussie Jules myself, and will - but meanwhile...) I would like to be reassured before commiting myself, that Jule's past does not include any goose-like behavior. Specificily: has she ever been a goose?
As for Mr Howard - eyebrows or no eyebrows - Phhtttt!

We can assure you that Julie Dunk is not, & has never been, a goose. Not that there is anything wrong with being a goose. Ms Dunk is pro-geese. Some of her very closest friends are geese. It just happens that she is not herself a goose.

Opposing native title helps Aborigines to assimilate in to “aspirational nationalists” What could be more caring?

You're right, of course, Sid. Like a nice big warm hug from a Boa Constrictor. Our Government LUURVES Indigenous culture.
